Happy Halloween!

31 Oct

What are you doing tonight? Nick and I will be handing out candy. Actually, I will hand out candy and he will play live Halloween spooky music on one of his keyboards when trick-or-treaters knock at our door. It should be fun! Have a great time whatever you do and don’t eat too much candy!

Never Enough.

30 Oct

Do you ever feel like even though you’re doing a lot, there are still more things that you could be doing? I do. However, when I decide to do nothing, I do just that, absolutely nothing at all, although those days are far and few between. So, when I saw this cartoon I was able to relate to it and I laughed out loud! Something tells me that I may not be the only one who might find the humor in this!

The Weekend.

26 Oct

This weekend we have fun family get-togethers to go to as well as a Halloween event on Saturday night that we decided to attend on Wednesday! We have no idea what we will dress up as so we need to come up with some ideas pronto! Are you dressing up for Halloween? If so, what are you wearing?

Have a fun and lovely weekend!

Frida Kahlo Vogue Cover

25 Oct

The iconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo is on the cover of the latest Mexican issue of Vogue. I think it would be great if this started a trend in fashion magazines and instead of always featuring actresses, who are already plastered on the cover of virtually every publication there is, more artists, designers, writers and others who contribute to the arts in general, were featured more prominently.

Happy Birthday Picasso.

“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life”

Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso is one of my favorite artists, if not my favorite. I’ ve had the opportunity to see many of his works, including this one, in person and whenever I have seen them I have left wishing I could have his paintings hanging on my walls. Abstract art truly speaks to me. I love it and he is the master of it. Today would’ve been his 131st birthday.

Slap Wrinkles Away!

25 Oct

Would you allow yourself to get slapped around for the promise of keeping wrinkles away? Well, according to a Thai beauty expert, that’s what can guarantee a wrinkle free face. For $350 you can get slapped into a youthful appearance. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am all about maintaining a youthful appearance for as long as I can, and while living in L.A., the plastic surgery capital of the world, guarantees that I have access to every procedure under the sun,  I don’t know that I would go under the knife or allow myself to get slapped. I’ll fight the signs of aging gracefully by sticking to good old fashion lotions and potions and eating and sleeping well. What about you , would you consider surgery, botox or slaps?

Cacti & Succulents

24 Oct

This past weekend in Palm Springs made me want  to go out and buy  a few succulents and maybe one or two cacti. I don’t have much of a green thumb and those plants are probably the best type to tend to  for someone like me.

(These are photos I’ve taken in and around L.A.)
